USA – Over 58,000 ha of beet unharvested due to inclement weather [Full subscriber]

The sugar beet harvest as of Nov. 3 was the slowest on record since 2000, the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) said in its Nov. 15 Sugar and Sweeteners Outlook. Rain and snow pelted crops in September and October. That was followed by a blizzard, and then warm temperatures that left fields a boggy mess.
