Unequal impact on global food production from climate change [Registered]

Focusing on the world’s top 10 crops– barley, cassava, maize, oil palm, rapeseed, rice, sorghum, soybean, sugarcane and wheat which supply a combined 83 percent of all calories produced on cropland, an international team of researchers led by University of Minnesota found that the impact of global climate change on yields of different crops from climate trends ranged from -13.4% (oil palm) to 1% in sugarcane and 3.5% in soybeans with some regions and countries faring far worse than others.…
