UK – Ragus opens a new sugar refinery [Registered]

Specialist sugar producer Ragus Sugars, based in southern UK, recently announced the opening of its new multi-million pound 50,000 tonnes capacity refinery in Slough. Ragus currently process 25,000 metric tonnes annually. Ben Eastick, director, Ragus Sugars, said that it will build on its position as a supplier of bespoke sugars which include refinery syrups, molasses and treacles, invert syrups and raw cane sugars (demerara, soft brown, muscovado). The company’s customers are mainly industrial users of sugar from the food, baking, pharmaceutical and brewing sectors.
