The $1 billion White Nile Sugar Project will soon be operational [Registered]

First phase of the Sudan-based White Nile Sugar Project (WNSP), a large agro-industrial investment attracting an investment of $1.1billion will come online in April according to the General Manager Hassan Satti speaking to Reuters recently. Planned capacity of the new sugar factory is 450,000 tonnes. It is situated 168 km south of Khartoum is near the Abu Hebera village in Central Sudan. When it becomes fully operational in 2014, the factory will be processing 4.5 million tonnes of cane.
