With the government prioritizing the expansion of biochemicals production through the use of sugar as the main feedstock, Worawan Chitaroon, the secretary-general of the Office of Cane and Sugar Board (OCSB), said the proportion of sugar allocated for export is set to drop to 40% to 50%, down from around 80% within the next five years as part of a goal of shifting the country to higher-value industrial activity. … Login to continue
