Sugar production in 2010/11 (Nov/Oct) in the period ended December 15 amounted to 236,069 tonnes, raw value, down from 498,227 tonnes produced in the same period a year ago. So far, the 31 mills that have started crushing have processed a total of 3.391 million tonnes of sugarcane, compared with 6.344 million in the same period a year ago.
