Researchers at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) have successfully tested their technology to process food waste via hydrothermal liquefication into biocrude which undergoes hydro-treatment to produce biofuel.

Researchers from the universities Illinois’ (Prairie Research Institute) and Massachusetts (Lowell) report that they have succeeded in converting wet biowaste, such as swine manure and food scraps into biodiesel.
