Indonesia – Raw sugar imports expected to be 3.2 mln tonnes in 2016 [Registered]

“In 2015, raw sugar import realisation was about 96 percent of the 3 million tons of permits issued,” said Adhi Lukman, chairman of the Indonesian Food and Beverage Industries Association. “For 2016 the industry will need 3 million tons refined sugar, equal to 3.2 million tons raw sugar.”

USA – 2016 tariff rate quota set by USDA [Registered]

The fiscal 2016 refined sugar TRQ was established at 145,505 short tons, raw value, of which 123,079 tons is reserved for specialty sugars as defined by the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative. The total refined sugar T.R.Q. includes a 24,251-ton minimum W.T.O. commitment, of which 1,825 tons is reserved for specialty sugar.
