Swaziland to expand cane sugar production [Registered]

Swaziland is aiming to increase sugar production by 25% over the next five years. This will be made possible by expanding cane production, says an industry group. Mike Matsebula, chief executive of Swaziland Sugar Association, told a conference on sugar in the Kenyan capital Nairobi that sugar production is likely to increase by about 11% this year. “We are currently producing, in round numbers, 600 000 tonnes per year.
