Significant expansion in sugar sales revenues has boosted Südzucker’s operating profit for the third quarter (1 March 2011 to 30 November 2011). Of the group operating profit for Q3 of €586 million, the contribution from the sugar division was €389 million, i.e. over 66%. The sugar division’s revenues for Q3 rose to €2,811 compared with the previous year of €2,536 million. This is largely driven by high price received for sugar as a result of high world market price that the global sugar industry has enjoyed over the period.
