South Africa – Clamour to stem sugar imports and save jobs grows [Registered]

Several key players in the industry are lobbying the South African government to stop imports of cheap sugar into the country which is threatening jobs and impacting the competitiveness of the local sugar millers. “We are losing R50-million [U$5.1 million] a month because sugar is being imported into South Africa.
