‘Side-by-Side’ ethanol and isobutanol production at Gevo’s plant progressing well [Registered]

The biotech start-up Gevo’s third quarter results paints a positive development at its Luverne, Minnesota plant where side-by-side isobutanol and ethanol operation has yielded commercial quantities of both fuels. The plant is set up to use one fermenter to produce isobutanol and three to produce ethanol. Gevo CEO Pat Gruber said. “The isobutanol side of the plant is working well. We have learned how to manage to contain infections.
