Russian sugar output will exceed 5 million tonnes this year [Registered]

While Russia’s sugarbeet production is expected to be lower this year than 2011’s record crop according to the Agriculture Ministry, reports Bloomberg. Total beet output is expected to by around 40 million metric tons compared with 46.2 million tons in 201. To date, 701,900 tons of beet have been harvested from 19,700 hectares, up 54 percent from 456,900 tons at the same date last year, the ministry said.
