Rain slows Australian sugarcane harvest [Registered]

Australia’s sugarcane harvest continues to be slowed by rain and might not end until December, two months later than normal, according to an industry source on 3 November. The Australian Sugar Milling Council said it expected the sugarcane crush to extend into December, compared with its usual October to November finish, because of heavy rains over the main sugar-growing areas of northeast Australia.
