Privately-owned millers in India pay high prices for cane to secure reliable supply [Registered]

In an attempt to secure regular supply of cane from growers, privately-owned millers in India are paying way over the fair and remunerative price set by the government. In the 2010-11 sugar season, Shree Renuka Sugars (SRS) paid the highest price than its competitors in the private sector.
