Philippines to export 200,000 tonnes raw sugar [Registered]

Philippine sugar producers can export as much as 200,000 tonnes of raw sugar to world markets this year on top of its US quota commitments, after a three-year break, with local output set to hit the highest in three years. Selling of raw sugar commenced in July to Japan and Indonesia, with committed shipments of 35,892 tonnes, Rosemarie Gumera, manager at the policy and planning unit of the state agency Sugar Regulatory Administration (SRA), told Reuters.
