Peru – New cane-based ethanol and power plant operational [Registered]
Maple Energy recently announced that its ethanol and bagasse-based cogeneration plant in Peru are now operational. The 37 MW cogen plant expects to gradually increase the amount of electricity produced during the third quarter of 2012. The increased level of power output will be sufficient to meet requirements of the ethanol plant with surplus available for sell to the national power grid. Over 165,000 tonnes of sugarcane have been harvested and processed by the plant by the end of March 2012.
