Integrated management of the vectors of sugarcane white leaf disease in Thailand: An update* [Full subscriber]

Abstract Sugarcane white leaf (SCWL) disease is an important disease of sugarcane, and is a threat to the economic stability sugarcane industry in Asia, especially in Thailand. The disease is caused by unculturable plant-pathogenic phytoplasma that lives in the phloem of host plants and in the insect vectors. The disease can spread through the use of infected cane stalks for planting material and by the leafhopper vectors Matsumuratettix hiroglyphicus (Matsumura) and Yamatotettix flavovittatus Matsumura.
