Identification of SNP markers linked to the Rz1 gene in sugar beet [Full subscriber]

The productivity of sugar beet is strongly limited by several biotic stresses. These include rhizomania (induced by beet necrotic yellow vein virus, BNYVV) that causes yield losses of 20-50% or more. The only way to control this disease is the use of resistant varieties. Rz1 is the major resistance gene present within commercial sugar beet varieties. A linkage analysis was carried out on F2individuals to identify single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) markers linked to Rz1.
