Cogeneration issues in a greenfield project [Full subscriber]

Abstract In this greenfield project for producing ethanol and sugar, a large amount of sugarcane trash has to be sent to the factory due to climate and soil characteristics. So, a study for assessing the best alternatives for using this trash for cogeneration purposes under a technical and economic approach was done. A dry cane cleaning system was considered for reducing fibre load in the milling train and reaching required compositions of the fuel (bagasse plus trash) for the boiler.
