Asian ethanol production grows in quest for self-sufficiency [Full subscriber]

Abstract Combination of ambitious fuel ethanol programs in some key countries, ample supplies of feedstock and strong economic growth rates are likely drivers for expansion in the production of both fuel and non-fuel grades ethanol in the foreseeable future in Asia. Ethanol production in the Far East will rise strongly in both 2017 and 2018. This will not only because of China where lower corn prices and more restrictive import practices help distillers to regain market share.
