A retrospective analysis of genetic advance in natural ripening of sugarcane [Full subscriber]

Abstract Natural ripening of sugarcane (Saccharum L. spp. hybrids) during late-summer and autumn is coincident with selection and harvesting, making ripening important from breeding and industrial perspectives. Our objective was to determine if natural ripening of sugarcane cultivars was affected by generation of recurrent selection.
