Pakistan offered assistance from Brazil to produce cane based ethanol [Registered]

In an interview for Pakistan Observer on 11 February, the Ambassador of Brazil to Pakistan Alferdo Leoni offered the government technical assistance from Brazil to produce cane-based ethanol. He advocated the Brazilian model of flex-fuel cars. Sugar industry is the second largest agribusiness after cotton in Pakistan. Currently, 76 sugar mills produce at or below capacity. Cane productivity levels are below global average. This is where the expansion potential currently lies.
