Official launch of White Nile Sugar Project postponed [Registered]

The inauguration of the over $1 billion White Nile Sugar Project (WNSP) in Sudan on 5th April was called off at the last minute due to the impact of US sanction which blocked the delivery of computer software needed to run the factory. Apparently the company originally contracted to supply the software was taken over by a US based company which refused to honour the contract in compliance with the decades-long sanctions imposed by Washington.
