Oakbio exploits carbon dioxide from flue gas to produce biochemicals [Registered]

Oakbio recently announced the successful production of bioplastic polymers in their bioreactor systems using carbon dioxide. The technology uses bioreactors driven by proprietary microbial platform to capture CO2 from cement plant flue gas and convert it to a variety of specialty and commodity claims. Oakbio recently announced collaboration with Lehigh Heidelberg Cement Group at Permanente Plant in Cupertino, California for the carbon capture and conversion. Details on yields, cost effectiveness of the process, what particular microbe specie has been bioengineered have not been disclosed.…
