Myriant recently announced that it has secured $25 million from US government for the construction of its flagship commercial biosuccinic acid plant located in Lake Providence, Louisiana. The award is granted under the Business and Industry (“B&I”) Rural Development Loan Guarantee program that is administered by the US Department of Agriculture (USDA). The plant will produce 30 million pounds (13.6 million kg) of biosuccinic acid annually and construction is on-schedule for the planned commercial start-up in the first quarter of 2013.
