Market Overview Raw sugar futures on ICE rose to a 4-1/2 year high on 16th August to US¢20.05/lb. Dealers said diminished prospects for production in Centre-South Brazil had helped to tighten supplies. London whites prices reflected gains that the raws enjoyed, hitting a high of US$510.30/tonne. But by 20th August, October raw sugar settled at US¢19.58/lb. White sugar futures in London fell by US$11.00 to settle at US$483.50/tonne on the same day.
