Raw sugar futures in New York ended significantly higher as the market continued its recovery from previous losses. A weakening of the US dollar was seen as supportive. The benchmark contract for March delivery settled at 20.07 cents per pound, in dealings between 19.80 and 20.15 cents. October raw sugar futures settled at 19.35 cents per lb on 22nd September. Dealers said sugar would likely continue to consolidate in the near term.
