Market Overview On 17th May, raw sugar price settled at 12.14 cents/lb, lower than the 15-day average of 12.46 cents. Despite forecasts by various analysts of impending sugar deficit for the 2019/20 season (Oct-Sept), this is countered by replenished stocks. Broker INTL FC Stone sees a global sugar deficit of 5.7 million tonnes in 2019/20, but sees stocks at 74 million tonnes, limiting price upside.
