Members of European Parliament highly critical of proposed reform of EU sugar regime [Registered]

During a late night on 11th September, stormy debate on the balance of EU policy between sugar sectors, Bulgarian, Romanian, Portuguese and British MEP’s once again criticised DG Agriculture on the management of the sugar regime. MEP’s requested Commissioner Dacian Ciolos reconsiders the Commission interpretation of legislation and the treatment of cane refiners, in the face of potential job cuts across Europe.
