Low sugar prices fail to curb Agrana profit [Registered]
Agrana has managed to post better profits in the third quarter by selling more, albeit at a lower average price, helping it to fend off raw material cost pressures that it expects to continue. The Austrian sugar, starch and fruit company saw a 10% revenue gain to €551m ($735.45 million) and a 14% jump in operating profit to €40 million for the quarter, while for the first nine months revenue rose 5.8% €1.62 billion and operating profit jumped 33% to €104.8 million. Johann Marihart, chief executive at Agrana, said full year revenue should exceed €2billion and profits should “rise significantly”.… Login to continue
