Indian sugar output expands [Registered]

Indian sugar output reached 23.26 million tonnes in the year to 1 June. This is an increase of 25% from a year earlier, latest figures reveal, with strong production likely to mean the country will regain self-sufficiency. With ample stocks, India, a nation which switches from exporting to importing depending on production, has already allowed 500 000 tonnes of open general licence (OGL) exports.
