Indian export hopes given a lift by promising forecasts [Registered]

India’s sugar output is expected to rise 12% to 11.2 million tonnes until 31 January ’11 in the current season from 1 October, the National Federation of Co-operative Sugar Factories said on 14 January ’11, raising hopes of overseas sales. Until 14 January, India produced 4.8 million tonnes, up 17% from a year ago, the producers’ body said. It estimated India’s year-to-September sugar output at 25 million tonnes against a demand of 23 million tonnes.
