Green Biologics buys an ethanol plant in US [Registered]

The UK start-up Green Biologics recently announced that it is purchasing the Central MN Ethanol Co-op (“CMEC”) plant in Little Falls, Minnesota. Timing of the transaction closing is expected in 2014, by which time “customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals, including the approval of CMEC’s members” would have been sorted. Green Biologics core focus is on producing biobased n-butanol from its proprietary technology. As of yet there is not much information about Green Biologics’ plans in producing biobased n-butanol at the Little Falls plant. The company has already produced 55 tonnes of corn waste-based n-butanol last year coming from China…
