Global sugar trade will continue to be informed by unlevelled playing field [Registered]
At the recent American Sugar Alliance (ASA) symposium in Vermont, Jack Roney, ASA’s director of economics asked Patrick Chatenay to discuss “Global free trade in sugar: Within free reach or mirage”. It was apparent from the outset that this was simply an indulgent, academic exercise as anyone who has been in the sugar industry for even a short time knows very well there is no level playing field when it comes to trade.
