Gevo succeeds in co-producing isobutanol and ethanol [Registered]

The US biotech start-up Gevo recently announced that it has been successful in co-producing isobutanol and ethanol at its plant in Luverne, Minnesota. The company describes the production technology as Side-by-Side operational mode (SBS). In the beginning of June, Gevo commenced the co-production of isobutanol and ethanol, with one fermenter dedicated to isobutanol production and three fermenters dedicated to ethanol production.
