Germany – Ethanol production boosted by record sugarbeet crop [Registered]

Government body BfB (Bundesmonopolverwaltung für Branntwein) reported a very strong beet ethanol output in Oct/Dec 2011. Around 100 million litres was produced in Germany in Q4 of calendar year 2011, the highest value ever. This was the result of the record beet harvest in 2011/12. Total fuel ethanol output in Q4 2011 was 263 million litres, surpassing the record 250 million in Q4 2010. The latest data brings Germany’s fuel ethanol production in calendar year 2011 to 750 million litres, below 761 million produced in the preceding year and up slightly on 749 million two years ago.
