The US-based startup Joule Unlimited, which recently received $70 million to commercialize its technology in which bioengineered microbes convert sunlight and carbon dioxide into liquid fuel is to expand its operations from pilot plant to small-scale production facility in New Mexico. Fluor Corporation was awarded with the contract to design and build the facility. The facility is intended to test and scale up Joule’s process technology for the commercial production of liquid fuels.
