Eridania and Kenana to build joint venture sugar refinery in Sudan [Registered]

Italy’s leading sugar producer, Eridania Sadam, and Kenana Sugar Company, Sudan’s sector major, have agreed to jointly build a major sugar refinery in Sudan to sell its output in Europe and Africa. The companies have agreed to set up a 50-50 joint venture to build the refinery near Port Sudan, the country’s major port, with an initial capacity to process 500,000 tonnes of raw sugar.
