Beet sugar producer Nile Sugar plans to expand processing capacity of its factory by more than 40% next year from 7000 tonnes to 10,000 tonnes beet per day, the CEO of the company Ali Al Dajani told Reuters during the Kingsman Dubai sugar conference currently taking place. Additional beet supplies will come from expansion in acreage. Over the period 2009/10 to 2010/11, beet production acreage increased from 98,000 ha to 145,000 has, according to USDA.
