DuPont to build cellulosic ethanol plant in Nevada, USA [Registered]

Nevada will be the site of one of the few commercial scale cellulosic ethanol plants in the world, DuPont announced on 27th June. Feedstock will be crop residues from corn which includes corn cobs, leaves and stalks. The company Poet is also proposing to build a cellulosic plant in Emmetsburg, Iowa. The state already has 40 corn-fed ethanol plants. To remain a leader in ethanol production, Iowa must find an efficient, cost-effective way to harvest the tons of biomass left on fields and turn it into biofuel.
