DuPont goes ahead with commercial scale cellulosic biofuels production [Registered]

DuPont is going ahead with commercial scale production of cellulosic ethanol in US sourcing corn crop waste as the feedstock. Fagen Inc. has commenced construction of DuPont’s first commercial cellulosic ethanol project in Nevada, that will process 375,000 tons of corn stalks and leaves a year into 30 million gallons of ethanol when completed in mid-2014, reported Bloomberg. DuPont is investing about $200 million to demonstrate the technology for potential licensees.
