Differential scanning calorimetry [Full subscriber]

Principles New analytical techniques such as gas or high pressure liquid chromatography and near infrared spectroscopy have been used in the cane sugar industry after their developments elsewhere. Here we look at a specific thermal analysis, Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC). Thermal analyses (TA) are used to study the properties of a sample as a function of an externally applied temperature. The sample temperature is increased linearly, while the property is evaluated continuously.
