Czarnikow revises forecast for world sugar surplus [Registered]

In its September review, the sugar merchant and analyst Czarnikow has virtually halved its forecast for a global sugar supply surplus in 2011/12 to 5.3 million tonnes, with the downgrade largely due to significant reduction in crop production in Brazil, the top producer. Czarnikow in June had forecast a global surplus of 10.3 million tonnes in 2011/12.
