Cuban sugar industry needs significant investment acknowledges senior industry official [Registered]

Cuba needs to make multi million dollars investment in its sugar industry to revitalise it and improve its competitiveness, according to Wilson Morel, the vice-president of the state-run AZCUBA managerial group, reports Havana Times. Morel, explained that the domestic sugar industry is in need of technical, administrative and financial inputs. The government is encouraged to invest more than U$10 million dollars annually into the industry. Annual investment of $3 million for the past few years has not been deemed to be adequate.
