Cereplast introduces new resins for the bioplastics market [Registered]
The US-based Cereplast, manufacturer of proprietary biobased, compostable and sustainable plastics, has introduced what it claims “the next generation” of Cereplast Hybrid Resins(R), an expansion of the Biopropylene(R) PP-based resin product offering through two new bioplastic resin grades, Hybrid 102D and 105D. The company anticipates marketing the new resin grades during the first half of 2012 in the United States and Europe. The hybrid resins replace up to 50% of the petroleum content in traditional plastic products with sugar or starch from commercially grown crops.
