Nanosensors for monitoring plant health in real-time [Full subscriber]

Among the latest additions to the smart farmers’ toolbox are nano-sensors made of carbon nanotubes that can be embedded in plant leaves and signal an alert when plants are stressed. The method, developed by researchers from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research and Technology (SMART), MIT’s research enterprise in Singapore, and Temasek Life Sciences Laboratory (TLL) reveals if the plants are injured, suffering light damage, infected, or more.
