Canada to continue anti-dumping duties on US sugar [Registered]

The Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) has announced that it will continue the 1995 ruling against ‘dumped’ sugar imports from the US, but will end duties on importing produce from the EU. A release from the Alberta Government’s Agriculture and Rural Development department confirms that anti-dumping duties will continue to be applied to imports of US refined sugar, refined from sugarcane or sugarbeet, in granulated, liquid and powdered form to prevent unfair competition and injury to the Canadian sugar industry.
