Brazilian troubles fuel sugar crop uncertainty [Registered]

Concern about prospects for cane in Brazil is one of the main explanations for the recent sharp rise in the world price of sugar. The 28.6 million tonnes of sugar produced up to mid-October this year was equal to the entire output for 2009/10, when yield was adversely affected by weather.
