Brazil may import over 1 billion litres [Registered]

According to the industry body Unica, Brazil may import as much as 1.2 billion liters (317 million gallons) of ethanol this year, Bloomberg reports. This is likely to keep prices from rising. Reduced cane output through combination of poor weather and aging cane fields has prompted concerns that fuel prices will rise when mills shut down for the rainy season that runs from December to April.
